Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home which has a combined gross domestic earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home income doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with nsfas status check combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
